Some serious things and fun things today.
I was surprised to hear this when I got home today, but the earthquake in the Szechuan Province in China has affected so many people. It was bad enough that almost all regions in China could feel it, as well as Hong Kong and Taiwan. I hope that the people there will be able to pick up and quickly and also that they will be safe soon. I hope my relatives and friends there are alright too.
The earthquake also affected my family here, but in a much less tragic way, thankfully. We had been planning to go to Szechuan in June for a while now, but after this, my parents decided to change our trip to Hokkaido, with a stop in Hong Kong and Macau for five days before and another stop in Tokyo for 2 or 3 days afterwards. I can say I'm really happy and grateful that my parents gave me a trip I've been thinking about for a while. Not necessarily Hokkaido (still excited though of course), but I had always wanted to go to Hong Kong and Tokyo in one vacation, and even if the total amount of days in those two places equals up to a week, I'm glad. The "issue" now is that my parents are leaving the Tokyo planning to me, because "I'm the only one who wants to go there." The only thing that I know for sure in my mind is that I have to visit the Johnny's Shop in Harajuku. (:

Hahaha. Nice planning there, love. My parents kind of did that to my brother too when we went to Japan. Seriously, 4 days in Japan just to watch a Sailor Moon musical. Anyway, I hope you have fun! And my Japanese teacher's from Hokkaido, and she keeps urging us to visit. She says it's a lovely place, and seeing how sunshine-y and enthusiastic my Japanese teacher is, I whole-heartedly believe her.
I'm glad that you still have something to look forward to during the summer vacation (though you're going to be missing your birthday again!)
