back (:

Been back since Monday and slowly adjusting back. :D Except I already had things to do. More on the vacation later!

Wednesday morning was. . .just bleh, for the lack of words to describe it. Doctor decided it was time for another blood test and to be honest, I haven't taken one for a couple of years. I hate anything involving medical needles, and when I was younger I use to cry right before the test. Anyhow I don't cry anymore but I hate the pain.

So we go to lab and we wait for about 30 minutes before it's my turn. I sit down and all that fine stuff waiting for the person to pull out all the vials he needed. Then he had to find the vein to draw the blood. And he takes a long time trying to find it and when he finally thought he got it, he sticks the needle in. All right that's fine. BUT NO BLOOD COMES OUT. D: The person then starts to jab the needle, which is in my arm, in all these directions. I thought I was going to throw up or something, because he kept doing it for about five minutes. Then I go "ummm maybe you should try the other arm because I usually get blood there." I'm desperately trying to get him to stop moving the needle in my arm arm in opposite directions. Finally, he takes the needle out and I have to go over the whole procedure on my left arm before he finds blood. D:

After I left the lab, my mom was like "geez you look like you died." ): Not funnnn.

Today though, was my orientation at UCSD. It was just one day, instead of the typical two day orientation where you stay overnight, the reason being my dad would be too tired to drive four hours total from the LA area down to SD for two days straight. In short it was all about the courses I'll have to take next year and a more in-depth introduction to my college at UCSD (which is split into 6 sub-colleges). There was stuff about housing, student activities, and peer counseling, etc etc.

Best part of the orientation was that I found myself a roommate. It was kind of unexpected too because I wasn't planning on making any new friends. I'm actually kind of quiet when I meet people the first time around. But this girl and I just clicked really well, primarily because we had so many similarities: we're both Cantonese, both live in the LA area, both took German as the high school foreign language, and wheee we both like Japanese music/dramas. I don't think she's a huge JE fan, but she definitely knows them. Her most definite favorite is Utada Hikaru. :D And she's really relaxed about everything, so that's perfect for me. We just kept talking and talking and eventually we were both like "oh hey maybe we should room together!" So we both threw in our roommate requests as soon as we got home. :D Hopefully everything will work out!
